Boniface Karanja
executive Director
Boniface is an accomplished operations leader with a decade of experience in travel industry, both corporate and leisure, and cross-border payments operations. Having worked with both startups and established providers in the UK and East Africa, Boniface brings a unique perspective on the practical challenges facing diaspora customers and SMEs. He oversees TumaTuma’s day-to-day operations, ensuring our service remains fast, reliable, and secure for every client.

Jeremy Larsson
Chief Executive Officer
Jeremy is a seasoned fintech leader with over 25 years’ experience scaling regulated financial services businesses across Europe and Africa. Before founding TumaTuma, he held leadership roles at CurrencyFair, SunLife, John Lewis Finance, Wombat, Barclays and RBS, where he successfully grew and scaled businesses from pre-Seed through to IPO, and led innovative digital and product growth initiatives. Jeremy’s strategic vision and commitment to empowering communities is at the heart of TumaTuma’s mission. He holds an MBA from London Business School and has a track record of building agile, customer-first organisations.

Chandrashekar Avanavadi
Head of Compliance & MLRO
Chandrashekar is a compliance expert and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) with a distinguished background in regulatory oversight, risk management, and anti-financial crime. With more than 20 years’ experience in financial services compliance, he is responsible for TumaTuma’s regulatory frameworks, KYC/AML policies, and risk controls. Chandrashekar’s meticulous approach ensures TumaTuma operates with the highest integrity and in full compliance with FCA and global standards.

Nelson Irungu
Head of Customer Service & CRM
Nelson leads TumaTuma’s customer service and CRM functions, championing a culture of personalised support and operational excellence. With an extensive background in fintech and customer engagement, Nelson ensures that every client - whether an individual, family, or SME - receives responsive, empathetic, and effective service. His focus on building lasting relationships is key to TumaTuma’s reputation for reliability and trust. Nelson’s expertise in customer service has been honed across the Kenya banking industry including The Co-operative Bank Kenya Ltd and the NCBA Banks for more than a decade.
